Hoist ropes: one set links the car and the counterweight over the sheaveCar with 0–4 test weights of 250 kg; counterweight of 1,650 kgDial: car side minus counterweight side, ±600 kgThe counterweight weighs the car plus 45% of the rated load, so the motor only lifts the difference: an empty car going up is pulled by the counterweight and the drive regenerates, and a half-loaded car is almost balanced. The sheave grips the ropes by friction over a 146° wrap. The car runs at up to 1.0 m/s with 0.8 m/s² ramps and cannot leave a landing until its doors are shut.
